I'm currently out of color tested ponies to feature so I thought I'd share some interesting breed test results in the meantime. These are the results of Chincoteague's Travelin' Preacher who is a full brother to island stallion WH Windy's Beach Boy and past mare WH Wildfire. This kind of testing can vary some between siblings due to the randomness of inheritance but it would be similar.
As you can see he is nearly 50% of Near East, which is Arabian and Akhal Teke. This wasn't too surprising as he has a good bit of Arabian in his pedigree including two Arabian great grandsires. His % is higher than most Chincoteagues that have been tested. His next highest group is European Heavy Horse. This is common with many Chincoteagues that have been tested. A lot of it appears to come from the Maryland herd, of which he has an ancestor. He also has a Paint Horse ancestor that may contribute to this category. Most Chincoteagues have 0-5% of Thoroughbred blood, but Preacher has 11.1%. This is from his half Thoroughbred ancestor Windy, he descends from her twice. The tested Chincoteagues descended from Windy have all had a higher percentage of Thoroughbred blood than the rest. Preacher is pushing 15 hands and looking at his breeding you can definitely see why!
